About us and our restaurant!
The Knuckle Sandwich Restaurant of Port Charlotte is owned and operated by David and Nora Saunders.
Dave is originally a Venice, Florida native. After graduating from high school, he attended the well-known and respected Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island where he majored in its famous Culinary Arts program. He then went on to work closely with executive chefs, honing and expanding
his culinary skills in some of the finest restaurants in Newport, Rhode Island. Eventually, Dave's experience and skills landed him top positions as Kitchen Manager and Executive Chef in Newport establishments.
Dave recently moved back to Florida with his wife Nora and daughter Brooke, where they are enjoying being closer to family and, of course, the warm Florida climate.
After residing in the Port Charlotte area for several months, Dave's talent and his enthusiasm for creating delicious food were reignited when he spotted the FOR SALE sign outside a restaurant
establishment at 320 Tamiami Trail.
Dave and Nora thought it would be the perfect place to create simple, but mouth watering, sandwiches and sides sure to put a smile on anyone's face.
